Empowering leaders through participatory democracy, governance, and leadership programs for a stronger, inclusive, and progressive India.
“Er. Awanish Kumar Singh, MLC, is convinced that ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’ (Nelson Mandela). As a young man, Awanish stepped into his father’s shoes, determined to change the future of our villages through quality and affordable education. Trained as an engineer and management professional, Awanish consciously chose the challenging path of social engineering and change management instead of pursuing a safe job. After taking over the leadership of the Subhash Chandra Bose Educational Society, established in 1965, Awanish transformed his birthplace, Hardoi, into a hub of education, creating a dozen institutes offering everything from kindergarten to postgraduate, professional, and technical education. In addition to his own institutions, he is also involved in the management of two universities, including one exclusively for women in Lucknow.
A visionary policy-maker, Awanish serves as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) of Uttar Pradesh, representing the Lucknow Graduate Constituency.
Believing that education should lead to employment, Awanish is deeply concerned about the careers of students after graduation. Through the unconventional Luck-Know Startup School, he is addressing the critical question: ‘What comes after studies?’ Awanish is a natural friend, philosopher, and guide who not only understands the youth and their challenges but also actively seeks solutions by bringing their concerns to the right forums.”
